Outdoor Sculpture

A sculpture on a lawn or in a garden catches you off guard in the best way. It makes you stop and look. That's what I want my outdoor sculpture to do for the people who live with it.

I'm Jason Smith. I've spent 38 years working with metal, first as a goldsmith and now building large abstract sculpture for homes, gardens, and businesses. I work in steel, stainless steel, and weathering Corten steel, materials that hold up to the weather.

Much of my work is Asian-inspired: bells, enso circles, and Asian characters. Before I build, I show you a rendering of the sculpture in your actual landscape, so you can see how it sits in the space. Here's how a custom made commission works.

Most pieces take about 90 days. I crate each one myself and ship by freight anywhere in the US, or I can install it on site.

You can see my work in person at the Hillsborough Gallery of Arts. When you're ready to talk about an outdoor sculpture for your space, reach me through the contact form.
