With Love
With Love grew out of HopeWest's vision, my interpretation of their logo, a heart drawn in two sweeping curves of mild steel. I hand-ground striations and swirls into the steel, then layered blue and turquoise patinas over them, so the color shifts as you walk around it. The heart rises from a tall black pedestal, a pop of color over a darker base.
HopeWest commissioned it for the east entrance of its Herb & Laura May Bacon Center for Living Your Best in Grand Junction, Colorado. I traveled to Colorado to uncrate it and see it installed, and it was unveiled with a ribbon cutting on July 31, 2020. Part of the process for me is meeting my clients in person and building a relationship with them.
